Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I build a routine within a routine? From the Workouts tab, create a new workout and add existing workouts as steps alongside individual exercises, to chain multiple sessions (warm-up, main set, finisher) into one.
- Does MFBP sync across my devices? Yes — enable iCloud Sync in Settings to keep your exercises, workouts, and history up to date across every device signed into the same iCloud account.
- How does MFBP work with Apple Health? Each part is optional and asks for permission first. With Sync to Apple Health on, MFBP saves completed workouts to Health, including distance and, for outdoor runs, walks and rides, the route. With Fuel on, it reads your calories, macros, energy burned and body weight to show them next to your training. If you track a workout on Apple Watch (Pro), it reads your heart rate, calories and distance during the workout. In Mind, it reads your sleep and mindful minutes, saves breathing sessions and timed practices as mindful minutes, saves your check-ins (and how you feel after workouts) as State of Mind unless you turn that off, and, only if you turn it on, saves nights you log by hand as sleep. See the Privacy Policy for the details.
- How do I start a run, walk or ride? Tap Cardio next to Start Empty Workout, pick the activity and Outdoor or Indoor, and add a goal if you like. The clock counts up until you hold Finish. Outdoors, MFBP uses GPS for distance, pace and a map of your route. Indoors, runs and walks use your iPhone's step counter, which needs Motion & Fitness access.
- Why is my distance missing or "Finding GPS…"? Outdoor sessions need location access for MFBP (Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services). Until the GPS gets a fix, distance comes from the step counter. Rows and swims get distance only from Apple Watch, and indoor rides don't track distance.
- Where are the animated exercise demos? Over 500 library exercises open on one. In the Library, tap Animated demos under More ways in, or look for the Demo mark next to an exercise. You can turn the figure, slow it down, and switch on coaching layers (bar path, tempo and the most common mistake). Change how the figure looks in Settings > Exercise Demos > Avatar.
- Can my workouts add to my calorie goal? Yes. Turn on Add Workout Calories in Fuel Goals (it's free and off to start). What your workouts burn, in MFBP or in other apps that save workouts to Apple Health, then raises the day's calorie goal. Choose a share of what you burn (50% to start, since watches tend to overestimate), only what's beyond your usual day of training, or all of it on top of a lower rest-day goal, and set the most it can add in a day. The Fuel screen shows what each workout added. Steps and everyday movement don't count; your goal already allows for them.
- What is Mind? Mind sits beside Train and Fuel. Check in with how you feel in one tap, read a short thought each day, try a new practice each week (for 7 days, if you like, to see whether it helps), track habits you choose (alcohol-free days, a screens-off wind-down, sleep and mindful minutes) against targets you set, take a guided breather, and read short guides with their sources. Set it up from the Mind ring on Today, and change your targets any time in Mind Goals. All of this is free; MFBP Pro adds What lifts you, monthly recaps and 14-day series. MFBP offers general wellness guidance and isn't a substitute for professional medical or mental health care. If you're struggling, Support & Resources in Mind lists people you can talk to, including 988 in the US.
- Where is my Mind data kept? On your iPhone. Check-ins, habit days, sleep you log, and anything you write in practices are never synced to iCloud, even with iCloud Sync on, and aren't sent to MFBP. Check-ins are also saved to Apple Health as State of Mind (you can turn this off in Mind Goals), which is how they come back if you set up a new iPhone.
- Can I reread what I wrote? Yes. Your three good things are under Your good things on Mind, where you can open any day to edit or delete it. Other practices show the days you did them on their own page.
- I don't wear a sleep tracker. Can I still track sleep? Yes. Log a night in Mind with a bedtime and wake time, or just the hours. If Apple Health has nothing for last night, Today asks in the morning. To choose where sleep comes from and what happens when both have a night, open Mind Goals › Sleep › Source and logging.
- Is my data shared with anyone? No. MFBP has no accounts, no ads, and no analytics. Your data stays on your device and, if you enable iCloud Sync, in your own private iCloud account. See our Privacy Policy for details.
- I found a bug or have a feature request. Email support@mfbp.io with as much detail as you can (what you were doing, your device model, and iOS version) and we'll take a look.
